A Lebanon, Ohio dad is distraught, disgusted and in disbelief after a man stole his son’s gun after a deadly motorcycle accident.
Columbus Division of Police posted video of what they call a disturbing crime on social media in the hopes that the public will recognize the suspect.
Authorities said, Bradley Bethel’s motorcycle crashed into Eddy’s Chicken and Waffles on E. Livingston Avenue at 5:36 am. Seconds later, an SUV pulls up and a man gets out of the vehicle and lifts the 25-year-old’s arm and takes his gun from his holster.
“It’s almost beyond my ability to put into words how disgusted and angry and hurt that in the last seconds of my son’s life that he was desecrated and defiled like he was,” said Bradley’s father Brian Bethel.
Police said after the suspect stole Bradley’s gun, he stayed at the scene and talked to police officers and medics who responded to the crash. However, police dash camera video shows the suspect left shortly after authorities asked about the missing handgun when they noticed an empty holster.
Brian Bethel wants justice and has a clear message for the man filmed stealing from his son in his final moments, “come forward. You did something very morally, disgustingly wrong.”
